Number: 111
Setting: A Song of Ice & Fire - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Song_of_Ice_and_Fire
History: Jaqen H’ghar is the identity that “A Faceless Man” gives to Arya Stark on the way to The Wall. His true identity and appearance are unknown. What we learn of The Faceless Men we learn through Arya’s training in the Temple of the Many-Faced God in Bravos. The Faceless Men are Assassins who use seemingly magical abilities to change their appearance.
What we do know of him is he was in the Black Cells underneath the Red Keep in Kings Landing before being caged to be brought to The Wall. Why he was there is unknown. He shows an interest in Arya along the way and she in turn saves him and his companions from being killed in their cage when their group is attacked.
He appears again at Harrenhal having signed up to fight for the Lannisters. He finds Arya insists he was always aware that she was a girl. He tells her that she owes 3 lives to the Gods since she saved 3 lives. He tells her that she need only speak a name and A Man will do the rest.
Arya chooses 2 people to be killed. For her last name however Arya says the name Jaqen H’ghar. He chides her for mocking the Gods and then asks her to take back the name. She says she will if he helps her free a bunch of captured North Men who fight for her brother. He insists this will take more then one life, but she refuses to take back his name unless he helps her.
In the books with the help of his old cellmates, Biter and Rorge they kill the guards guarding the cell by first pouring scalding soup on them. They free the North Men and Jaqen, covered in blood, tells Arya that “A girl should be bloody too, this is her work.” And wipes his sword clean on her shirt.
Jaqen says that the debt is paid and they are done. He then says it is time for Jaqen to die. Arya insists he doesn’t need to die because she took back the name but he insists that All Men Must Die. He then passes a hand over his face and it changes before Arya’s eyes.
He tells her that if she wants to learn and to find him again that she should give a coin he gives to her to any man from Bravos and say the words “Valar Morghulis”
He then leaves her.
Later in the books, a man going by the name “The Alchemist” matches the description of the face Jaqen changed into when he left Arya. He kills a man named “Pate”. Who we then see later on as well. It is theorized that they are all Jaqen, A Faceless Man.
Personality: Jaqen H’ghar almost always refers to himself and others in Third person, for example, “This man has the honor of being Jaqen H’ghar,” “A girl has no honor.” This we learn later in the books is likely a trait from his training to become a Faceless Man. They makes themselves no one so they can easily become others.
Faceless Men are basically "Broken" during their training, stripped down to nothing, where they are essentially "No-one" with no personality or history of their own. Their lives before were some one else, they live only to serve and deliver the Gift to those who are chosen.
They are then built up with training in lying, deception, hand-to-hand combat, weapons and poisons, and finally with the faces of others. They are the perfect Assassins and also the most expensive.
Jaqen is courteous to Arya and assumingly others as well. He seems to enjoy luxuries when he can get them, as seen in the books when Arya comes to tell him a second name and finds him in a bath, relaxing as women wash him.Jaqen is a man with a remarkable amount of patience. He does not like to be rushed; he prefers to deal with things, especially killing in his own time. He smiles a lot, as though he finds his surroundings and those in them amusing. He has an almost saunter to his step. He also tends to pick up on things about people easily, he watches and listens.
He does not kill without reason as he considers death a “gift”. He is very secretive and lying would come naturally to him. He is very set in the training he received, and is unlikely to stray from it, the exception being when he killed more then the 3 deaths he promised Arya to have his own name unnamed. This was likely more due to his sense of duty rather then fear for his own life.
He is not prideful but is a man who knows his own abilities. He does not kill for his own reasons but for whatever his assignment might be. It is the will of others and the Many-Faced God that decide who is to die by his hand. He's calm in situations where others may panic. Death does not faze him, it is a part of him.
His interest in Arya is likely uncommon, it may be due to the lives she owed to the Gods but he perhaps recognized traits in her that had potential. He seems genuinely disappointed that she won't go with him.
Though he may be courteous to most, he is unlikely to become 'friends' with them. Even if he uses the term. No one cannot have friends, it would be a weakness and shift focus from the task he has been given.
Abilities, Weaknesses and Power Limitations: Jaqen is a Faceless Man and as such is a skilled assassin. He has skilled knowledge in weapons, poisons and hand-to-hand combat. He is particularly good at killing people and making it look like an accident.
As a Faceless Man he also has the ability to change his appearance at will. The limitations on this are not fully known as of yet but the change is instant. According to the books he simply passed a hand over his face and changed. It is assumed he would've had to study someone he was going to mimic for a time before taking their appearance. The change is complete including voice.
There is no known way to see through the deception and it would appear that he can change from one face and another without returning to his "Original" face.
Apart from that he is a normal human being, and can be killed like any other.

SAMPLES
Log Sample: A man falls to his knees, his body shaking as confused eyes dart around when his vision returns. He is naked, in more ways then one. It had been many years since this man had no face and he had no desire to look upon it.
Raising a hand over his face he sought the inner calm of being no-one and then focused it on being someone else. When his hand came away it was to reveal a face he abandoned some time back. Jaqen H’ghar, why this man? He wondered. It did not matter though; it was as good as any.
He stood, the weariness wearing off; it was then he noticed the tattoo, despite his change a number was etched into his skin. What was this place? Nothing made sense to him. He had been on a mission, a mission he had not yet completed.
He took a breath and calmed himself; he would not be shaken by the unfamiliarity. He would not reveal his thoughts to enemies that may be about. He would find answers.
His feet brought him into another room one full of storage cupboards. Glancing at the number on his arm he walked along the row until he found the corresponding number. He hesitated only a moment before opening it.
His red and white head tiled to the side curiously as he examined the contents. Some he recognized as his own, others he did not. Grateful for his clothing he dresses himself and then removes the few things he recognizes, attaching the dagger to his belt and placing the coin and vials in the pouch before attaching that as well.
He then pulled out the other clothing and held it up to examine. It looked as though it would fit him, but he had no desire to try. It was unfortunate he had no armor but he had worked without many a time.
Curious, he pulled out the other item in the locker; he turned it around in his hands unsure of what it was or how to use it. He barely contained his start when the device powered up and a voice spoke to him.
“A Man does not understand, what is a man a passenger of?” Getting no reply, he sighed. He spotted the word Lift by a strange looking door. He would do as the voice commanded, for now. Valar Dohaeris indeed.
Comms Sample: [Jaqen peers curiously at the device, turning it every which way, attempting to open it or make it do something to indicate what it was and how it works, his finger hits the right button and the things lights up and the audio begins]
“A man does not understand how this works. A man hopes there are others here yes?”
